What do You have to Leave Behind to Follow Jesus? Matthew 4:19-22

It is good to examine our lives to make sure that Jesus is leading and we are following. The disciples heard the call to follow the Master and they left their nets and boats. They even cut family ties to obey His Voice. Is there a net that we are entangled in? Or a boat of self-will that is taking us in the opposite direction of God’s will? If so, it needs to be burned.

Who or what is the center of your attention? Much of the church is walking in cycles of defeat because their eyes are focused on their struggles. Don’t make the devil the center of your attention! Jesus is the preeminent One and He alone should have your undivided focus. We must become a people that see the King exalted even in the midst of our battles.

Surviving the Wilderness to Walk in Fruitfulness

There are God-ordained wildernesses that the Father enables us to go through to prepare us for fruitful ministry. It’s in the pressure of this kind of wilderness that the Father reveals those things in our hearts that are not of Him so that he can cut them away in His mercy. Don’t let anyone steal your wilderness – the Father will use it to prepare you to enter into what He has prepared for you.
